Matt Scarpino has designed scenery in Los Angeles for the past ten years. Selected design credits include Gunmetal Blues and Striking 12 for Ensemble Theatre Company of Santa Barbara, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Newport Theatre Arts Center (May 2011), Chicago (Aug 2011), Art, The Laramie Project for Torrance Theatre Company, The Man Who Came To Dinner and Evita for The Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga, Twelfth Night, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Midsummer Nights Dream, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at Riverside City College, the Los Angeles Premier of Urinetown at the Matrix Theatre in Hollywood, The West Coast Premier of The Melody Lingers On at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood and Radicalove at the Annenburg Theatre in Palm Springs.
When Matt is not working in theatre he passes the time as an Art Director, Trade Show and Industrial Designer, Technical Director and Scenery Fabrication Manager. Selected projects include: Production Design for the 2010 Wine Celebrationproduced by the V-Foundation at Nickel & Nickel Winery in Napa, California, Set Designer & Project Consultant for Mirage Entertainment’s HorrorwoodHaunted House and EDA Haunted House in Taiwan, Scenic Fabrication Manager and Design Consultant for the West Coast Premier of Girl's Room at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, Production Designer for the annual Kick Off for Bank of the West in Las Vegas, Trade Show Design for FlowerPower Inc.’s Hong Kong Gift Expo 2009 and Art Direction for a variety of infomercials. Matt holds a MFA in the area of Scenic Design and Technical Direction from California State University, Fullerton.
